Cover Nanits Underground part 2

Nanits Chronicles: Taking on the Challenge of Chapter Two

For the cover of the second chapter of Nanits Chronicles, I had to raise my game even more than in the first one. By this point, I was getting the hang of working with layers and creating a deeply immersive experience. The cyberpunk vibe of this series is unlike anything else, especially in this storyline where Detective Frinkle dives into the gritty underworld, hunting down the black-market trade of the Nanits medicinal compound.

I had to draw everything in layers to achieve that 3D effect the app was going for. Seriously, anyone who got a chance to see how it turned out would have been blown away—it felt incredibly immersive. Reading this on an iPad with the 3D effect, music, and ambient sounds that shifted with each scene was something else! You’d hear explosions, punches, and all these sound effects that brought the story to life in a way that was just amazing.

It’s a shame they only did the first and second parts in the app, though. I also created the third part in layers, just like the others, but it only came out in print. Still, it turned out pretty awesome on paper too!

About the CES Storyline

In this chapter, we’re introduced to a future society run by the powerful NFO corporation, where wealth determines health. The rich live under full control, but the underworld sees this as a business opportunity and starts dealing in Nanits compounds. Detective Frinkle—driven by his fierce sense of justice—embarks on a mission to take down this underground network.
