My favorite Marvel character has always been Spider-Man—or really, unlucky Peter Parker. It’s funny because my favorite DC character is Superman, and they couldn’t be more different! But anyway, back to Spider-Man. Recently, the amazing artist @sommariva—whose cartoon style I totally admire—shared a black-and-white drawing of Spider-Man with Michelangelo from the Ninja Turtles. Since you all know I’m a huge fan of both Spidey and the Turtles, I couldn’t resist jumping in to color it.
It’s been years since I’ve colored something just for fun, so it felt great to dive in and bring those characters to life. I went ahead and added the rest of the Turtles alongside Michelangelo. The colors for Spidey and the Turtles really pop together, and adding their unique colors and expressions was a blast.
Spidey and the Turtles are just such classic characters, and they’ve meant a lot to so many fans, including me. Growing up watching both really shaped me, so this piece brought back some memories. Hope you enjoy the result as much as I did working on it!
